Thank you Substack of 2025 !
Reviewing my first year on Substack..
The best thing that I did last year was to start writing on Substack; without any expectations of followers, validations and monetisations. Just decided to Write better clarity, record keeping of the thought process and decision making while investing. In that process, I committed lesser mistakes, learnt different approaches and mental models, got inspired and took a leap of faith.
So, a Big Thank You ! to all those 500 minus 1 subscribers :)
Apart from writing, I also started Reading with Intent few other Substacks which helped me immensely not only in my Personal (& Investing) but also in Professional life. Some notable good reads from 2025; hope you like them too.
How to live an intellectually rich life by Utsav Mamoria. I think this one must be the most read and liked post on India Substack. Take a bow, Utsav!
Deep Value Investing 101 by Michael Burry (Game Stock Short Squeeze Case)
If you want to be right, while being a contrarian and still make a lot of money then this Paid post is for you (when I read it was free for some hours :P)
A great company might not be a good investment (yet); applying RoIC Vs Growth framework, stellar and original work by Michael Mauboussin explained simply by Invested Capital.
The death of a Corporate Job; apt read for all of us going through midlife crisis. Relatable three post series by Alex McCann
Story on Where Is My Train (Google`s first acquisition in India) by The India Notes 🇮🇳 - Read this if you want to learn Design Thinking in practice.
Trust The Cash and Not the Gloss, essential learning for every founder, promoter and investor by DeepValueIndia.
Turnaround Investing with the example of Spicejet by Zen Nivesh; I liked their Vintage Coffee & Gokul Agrow writeup as well but Spicejet story taught me to take the lense of >10 years history to understand the inevitable ups and downs in every business and how great promoters are a MUST for a great business.
8. The Great Mental Models through Visual Summary by Doublethink; I wish I could see these visuals all the time in front of me to think and decide better.
A deep dive into Nomad Investment Partnership; gives substantial reaffirmation on the life that I have chosen lately, of Long Term Views + Concentrated Bets + Building something which gives life a meaning. I really wish, I could study something in detail to interpret and analyse the way Massive Moats did
And the last and an absolute banger read from Robin Guo - Life is Poker, Not Chess. This one helped me to push myself out of a cushy job and take an asymmetric bet by embracing uncertainty.
Looking forward to another year well spent, with some more Goodreads in 2026 !
Thank you again for subscribing and have a great year ahead !
P.S. :- Out of the Substack world, I came across one entire series of amazingly well written posts, if you work in Strategy, Marketing, Product or Investing, binge read it.

Let’s make it 500 subscribers. I am already a subscriber of znivesh. Will check out all the other wonderful reads as well. Have a great year reading and writing in 2026.
